There are many friends, causes, and web sites that I would like to prominently display. Many of these sites, make my research easier and deserve much credit for inspiring me to undertake this project.
The Civil War Preservation Trust
The Civil War Preservation Trust (CWPT), is absolutely the most important resource, and friend, that Civil War enthusiasts have. They are dedicated to battlefield preservation, so our children, grand children and great grand children will have access to the battlefields we have enjoyed. They have a proven track record of success, having saved over 25,000 acres of battlefield. I personally donate, all that I can spare, to help protect the hallowed grounds, and advance the causes of CWPT. Please consider joining this great group. Membership provides many benefits and you receive their fantastic magazine, “Hallowed Ground,” with a basic membership. After you are member, you will receive updates on current endangered battlefields, and will have an opportunity to help protect the hallowed ground. Follow this link Civil War Preservation Trust, or click on the picture, on the left, to be taken to their web site.

Civil War Interactive: The Daily Newspaper of the Civil War Since 1996
The Civil War Interactive blog, is a great place for Civil War buffs to learn about the Civil War, discuss topics with other enthusiasts and enjoy some great reading. As the name implies, it is an interactive blog. Besides the blog contents, CWi also offers one of the richest Civil War discussion boards, that I have seen. Registered members can create their own posts, monitor topics of interest and make comments on other posts of interest. The discussion board is well organized, so you can find what you are looking for, very easily, whether it is specific information on a battle or discussions on a book you are considering reading. Please take time to visit Civil War Interactive. I am sure you will enjoy the wonderful site, as much as I do.
Publishers that I like:
Savas Beatie, LLC. is a terrific publisher of historical titles. Ted Savas has an uncanny ability of finding “diamonds in the rough” – books that provide readers narratives on a wide array of Civil War topics, from large well known battles to biographies on pivotal characters in the Civil War to lesser known engagements that had significant strategic implications. Check out this great publisher and support their authors.
The University of North Carolina Press offers a significant amount of titles on the American Civil War. With some of the most popular historians writing for them, they are a publisher that you should check out. Check their website out for some of the best Civil War titles.
