Lew,

The primary reason I use Amazon.com is because of the reporting. I get immediate reporting on all click throughs and purchases. I am not in it for the money, as the revenue share is miniscule.

Thanks for your kind words.

What a great site!!! Your book reviews are amazing. I do have a question though. Why, with all of the great small, independent Civil War booksellers out there do you only promote Amazon? I have a small bookstore and give a percentage of my profits (when I have them, which isn't often in today's economy) to several battlefield protection groups. I think that a site like yours would be an excellent place to promote those sellers who have an interest in this subject and are not necessarily doing it for the money like the bigger box stores/web-stores. I would hope that in the future you would give the smaller stores a chance -- I would be willing (as would many others, I'm sure) give you the same kick-back that Amazon gives you.

I really like your site, great job. I love reading anything about the Civil War that I can get my hands on. My favorite books are those about Stonewall Jackson. I recently was able to visit his house and grave in Lexington Virginia. It was a very moving experience for me. At his graveside, there are lemons that people have brought and laid in the grassy area around his grave, since Stonewall loved lemons. Also in the same cemetery are the graves of William Pendleton, head of Jackson's artillery and his son, Sandie Pendleton who served on Stonewall's staff. Mike,Keep up the great work.

Great site Mike. It is refreshing to see someone focus on some of the smaller units of the Civil War. This makes it a little more personal than the broader overviews more frequently seen. I look forward to keeping up with your blogs.
