My gg Grandfather- Theophilus (T.C.) Chambers- Company I- 83rd Pennsylvania Volunteers- survived Andersonville; suffered the rest of his life with a horrible gun-shot wound to his left thigh. He was a survivor. T.C. died in 1894.

Very moving to read this, see the photos.
My great great grandfather survived Andersonville and went on to homestead in Kansas.
Cannot imagine the fortitude it must have taken to live through something like this and then move on in life.

I'm working on a book about my great-great grandfather's Civil War experience. He survived Andersonville and lived to be 94 years old.
Recently we visited Andersonville and I thought they had quite a good museum and gift shop.
In particular, I'm trying to track the 93rd Indiana Infantry, Company G during the Civil War. Any information that people may have, I'd like to hear about it.
